    Description

Here offered is an old time piece from noted Franklin dealer Gerstmann.  The specimen features a lovely coating of plating zincite on which there are lots of vugs with type locality Hetaerolite as well as a coating of crystals of an unknown yellowish-white carbonate.  There are lots of tiny sprays of Chlorophoenicite as well on the classic Sterling Hill pale willemite, calcite and franklinite ore.  In photos 3-4, there is an unidentified light pink crystals (maybe Hodgkinsonite, Kolicite or Rhodochrosite?) coated with an unknown carbonate as well as clear little crystals nearby that I'm not sure on either.  There also appears to be a little Sussexite on top of the zincite near the large vug as well as another unknown near the edge on the other side of the vug coating the zincite in parallel bands, maybe friedelite?  Super complex neat piece with a lot to look at with hand lens or stereo microscope!!
