Description
LONG WAVE and SHORT WAVE UVNice two color fluorescence with this Terlingua-type Calcite cleaved rhomb. It fluoresces a pink with long wave UV light and blue under in short wave UV light.
Very strong Phosphorescence after short wave UV exposure wave.
The crystal is cleaved into a typical Calcite rhombohedral form and is a milky white to clear in color.
These Terlingua type Calcites are amazing, probably the best fluorescing minerals I have owned.
From The Challenger Cave in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
65 grams.
2" inches in length.
NOTE!
I used a long wave (365nm) UV convoy2 with a band pass filter for the long wave images, you will need one as well to see the UV reaction like in the pictures. The short wave images were shot under a 6 watt short wave lamp (254nm).
