    Description

    This dense specimen
    from Sterling Hill, NJ
    has
    white calcite, gorgeous rusty-colored
    willemite, &
    black
    franklinite in
    daylight photos #8 & 9.
Under short wave lamp the rock has patches of
    bright green willemite
    and
    red calcite
(photos #1-4).  It has some of the brightest willemite that we have ever seen!  Photo #2 was taken with our SW lamp held at our normal position (just above & behind the camera), and some of the willemite glows so brightly it looks white!  So I held the lamp literally at arm's length over my head in an attempt to capture the gorgeous
    red
    &
    green colors
    in the other SW photos.
    Some of the willemite
    phosphoresces
after the lamp is turned off.
Both minerals also glow brightly under our S2 Convoy long wave flashlight (photos #5-7).
    The black franklinite is non-fluorescent.
    Weighs 7.8 oz. & measures 2.5 x 1.75 x 1.375 inches. (#NJ-131).
