    Description

    Brightly patterned specimen with highly compressed and elongated masses of Mylonitized Willemite, Calcite (SW/UV red) and Franklinite.
    This example of Mylonitization shows the interesting elongated grain structure from tectonic forces that have stretched and compressed the mineral masses.
    One face of this piece is smooth slickenside fault rock and is layered with Serpentinized Willemite.
    From the Sterling Hill Zinc Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County,  New Jersey.

    Must be viewed with a short wave ( 254 nm ) ultraviolet lamp.
