    Description

This sizeable rock comes from Franklin, NJ and was collected several years ago by Gerry McLoughlin.
Classic calcite/willemite combination in a SPECTACULAR pattern, with an unknown non-fluorescent brownish mineral present.
    See photo #7.
Photo #5 seems to show some possible Hardystonite, however I did not see this in person.
Possibly just reflection (or my bad eyesight)!
Photo #6 shows a LONGWAVE UV reactive orange/tan fluorescence.
This is possibly a form of Sphalerite, but I am not certain.
Best in Shortwave UV (Photos #1-5)
Interestingly, as mentioned, this rock shows a TAN/ORANGE fluorescence in one spot which is an unidentified mineral.
Photo #6 was taken with a POWERFUL LONGWAVE flashlight, and this is the ONLY way you will see this fluorescence – but it is there!
    This rock weighs ONE POUND and 7.8 ounces (676 g), and measures 3.75 inches X 3.50 inches X 2.00 inches (9.3 cm x 8.7 cm x 5.0 cm).
WE BUY OLD FRANKLIN AND STERLING HILL COLLECTIONS, INCLUDING “BASEMENT ROCK BOXES”!
NOTE: Typical Blacklight UV lights will not display any color.
Also, the intensity of the color will vary depending on the strength of the lamp you have.
For a good quality Shortwave lamp at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider the lamps sold by Engenious Designs.  This manufacturer sells these lamps directly to you (and they are not related to me in any way, and I do not sell these lamps.)
I have set the shipping as First-Class Mail.
If you plan on bidding on MORE than one rock, let me know BEFORE you pay your invoice, so I may combine shipping to save you money.
I can often combine five or six rocks in one box.
If you pay first, I must ship immediately and cannot offer combined shipping rates.
