Description
A FANTASTIC MUSEUM QUALITY AND SIZED SPECIMEN OF THE SCHEELITE ORE OCCURRENCE FROM THE PINE CREEK MINE. JUST RELEASED FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT WON'T LAST. THERE IS SO MUCH SCHEELITE & POWELITE ON THIS SPECIMEN IT IS HARD TO FATHOM. HIGHLY CONCENTRATED WITH LARGE GRAINS OF DISSEMINATED/SOLID ORE. I know this is ore because this was not obtained the normal collecting route, but found in the closet of the Mine Geologist's Office when the site was closed. Once I saw it sitting there I knew this was an actual rich ore specimen. I had the unique opportunity to claim some items during a brief visit many years ago, just before everything went to a museum. You know when I saw this piece I had to leave with it. Very rare, and not likely to see similar since this was originally from underground, and is a very clean piece.Endeavoring to bring high quality fluorescents to the average collector and future displayer of fluorescent minerals!
I CANNOT EXPRESS JUST HOW BRIGHT THIS SPECIMEN FLUORESCES, A TRUE DISPLAY QUALITY SPECIMEN, I'D KEEP BUT I HAVE TOO MUCH ALREADY. LOTS OF SCHEELITE & POWELLITE HERE!!!!
CHECK THIS AND MANY OTHER SPECIMENS OF BRIGHT FLUORESCENTS FROM CALIFORNIA. THESE ARE EXTREMELY RICH PIECES AND WHILE THE PHOTOGRAPHY IS SUB-PAR, THE SPECIMEN IS TOP CLASS!
MUSEUM QUALITY &
EXCELLENT
FLUORESCENT SPECIMEN!!! VERY RARE!
This specimen is an
excellent
example of concentrated Scheelite (fl. blue & blue/white SW), Powellite (fl. yellow SW) with non-fluorescent molybdenite, epidote and garnet from the "A" Level Adit, Pine Creek Mine, Bishop, Inyo County, California, USA. FANTASTIC example of these fluorescent species from this locale!
It's out of this world in person! VERY RICH in Scheelite & Powellite!!!!!!!!! The first time being offered from my personal collection. Obtained by me in September 2001, from the office closet of the Mine Geologist. Very Heavy.
Displays wonderfully.
The size of the specimen is 6" (15 cm) by 4-1/2" (11.3 cm) by 3" (7.5 cm), an unbelievable sized LARGE matrix scheelite/powellite ore specimen.
DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY, I ONLY HAVE ONE OF THIS SIZE AND QUALITY.
Great to add to a competitive display.
Check this and my many other offerings now and in the days to come. The fluorescent picture(s) are under SW UV light, I am using a Superbright SW lamp. I apologize for any quality issues with my photographs, I am not a photographer, but a field collector at heart. The specimens I sell are much better in person, check out my feedbacks!
Do not miss out in adding one of these high quality and historic examples of California fluorescence/mineralogy.
I am an active member of the Fluorescent Mineral Society, PAST UV Waves Editor, and have been a member for over 39+ years. Although I don't feel that aged. I know what fellow fluorescent hobbiests are looking for, and will only offer quality here. I do guarantee my offerings, and as you see in my feedbacks, many buyers tell me how the specimens are better in person.
PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PURCHASING THE ITEM.
The shipping on this specimen is .00 for domestic bidders and 0 for international bidders. I do NOT combine auctions for this specimen, it is too large and rare. Payment of shipping covers some but not all of the eBay and PayPal fees. Payment is required immediately.
HAPPY HUNTING AND THANKS FOR VIEWING MY OFFERINGS! KEEP CHECKING BACK AS I HAVE ROUTINE OFFERINGS OF VERY HIGH QUALITY!!
