Description
Up for bid is a piece of rare Gem Tugtupite from the Kvanefjeld area in Greenland. Like most Tugtupite, this specimen fluoresces brilliant red under SW UV. However what make this specimen special is the Gemmy Raspberry color in the daylight, the unusual fluorescent colors under MW and LW, and the unusual phosphorescent response. Tugtupite with good color like this has been extensively collected for use in Jewelry for many decades. As a result, when fluorescent mineral collectors started going to Greenland in the early 2000s there was none of this Gemmy Raspberry Tugtupite to be found. I went to Greenland twice and never found anything close to this quality. Of course there were plenty of fabulous multicolored fluorescents to be found since no one was looking for those! This piece was collected by Peter Lindberg 30 some years ago and came from an old collection.First picture is under white light and shows darkening of Tugtupite due to tenebrescence after exposure to SW UV. Color will fade back to original shade after a period of time.
Second Picture is under white light and shows original color before SW UV was applied.
Third picture is under SW UV.
Fourth picture is under MW UV, This MW Red-Violet response is unusual for Tugtupite
Fifth picture is under SW UV, This LW Orange shade is unusual for Tugtupite.
Sixth picture is the phosphorescent response. This white and Violet response is very unusual. I suspect it is from White phosphorescence shining thru Raspberry colored Tugtupite.

Domestic Shipping
For domestic shipping I generally use Fed Exp Ground for heavier and more expensive items, and US Postal Service Priority Mail for lighter and less expensive items. Both services have door to door tracking and full insurance. If you have a shipping preference please let me know. If the shipping service I use costs less than eBay charges, I will refund any excess. I only charge actual shipping costs with no extra charges for packing or shipping materials and will gladly combine shipments. If the combined shipping doesnt work for some reason, I will refund any excess shipping.
International Shipping
I use US Postal Service Priority mail for all international shipments. Please note that due to a lack of international flights, many overseas shipments are going by boat instead of air. This can add a month or more to delivery times. Purchase at your own risk.
