Description
Up for bid is specimen of rare Pabstite from the Kalkar Quarry in Santa Cruz County, CA. The Pabsite fluoresces Blue-White SW and Red LW.Pabstite is a barium tin titanium silicate mineral that is found in contact metamorphosed limestone. It is the tin bearing analog of Benitoite. Pabstite was first described in 1965 for an occurrence in the Kalkar quarry of Santa Cruz County, California and was named for Adolf Pabst (1899–1990) a mineralogy professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Pabstite is found as disseminated grains in recrystallized siliceous limestones as in this specimen.
First picture is a close up under LW UV. This is the first time I have been able to capture the LW UV response of Pabsite. You will need a bright UV source like a Convoy to see the LW UV response. Second picture is a close up under SW UV. Third picture is a close up under white light. Fourth picture is the front under SW UV. Fifth picture is the Front under white light.

Domestic Shipping
For domestic shipping I generally use Fed Exp Ground for heavier and more expensive items, and US Postal Service Priority Mail for lighter and less expensive items. Both services have door to door tracking and full insurance. If you have a shipping preference please let me know. If the shipping service I use costs less than eBay charges, I will refund any excess. I only charge actual shipping costs with no extra charges for packing or shipping materials and will gladly combine shipments. If the combined shipping doesn’t work for some reason, I will refund any excess shipping.
International Shipping
I use US Postal Service Priority mail for all international shipments. Please note that due to a lack of international flights, many overseas shipments are going by boat instead of air. This can add a month or more to delivery times. Purchase at your own risk.
