Fluorescent Wollastonite, Calcite, Barite (Third Find) Franklin, NJ

Description

A small cabinet specimen of bright orange wollastonite from Franklin, NJ. Known locally as "third find", it contains white-fluorescing barite, red calcite and a bit of green fluorescent willemite. There are scattered flecks of biotite mica and a few small franklinite crystals. From the Franklin Mine, Franklin, NJ. Size: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1-1/4". Weight is 7 oz. or 208 grams. UV photos are under shortwave.
Please note; you must have a 254nm shortwave UV lamp to properly view the fluorescent response of this specimen.
