Description

* Short Wave fluorescent yellow /green Fluoro-edenite in Franklin marble matrix, with good coverage, from the Rhein property, Amity, Warwick Twp. Orange Co. N.Y. The blue glow on matrix is UV reflection. This is a new local for Fluoro-Edenite and was confirmed by the NYS Museum

* Historical note, Amity, Edenville, and Pine Island are small hamlets in Warwick, Orange Co. N.Y. with the distinction of having outcrops of Franklin marble with many wonderfull collectable minerals! Edenite, Warwickite, & Clintonite were discovered here in the 1800's (type localitys). Recently Fluoro-Edenite a beautifull fluorescent was found by a collector and identified by the NYS museum. Edenite, Norbergite and Diopside add to the list of great fluorescent minerals.The largest Spinels in the world are from here! Chondrodite and Fosterite are associated.
