    The Calcite fluoresces red with internal phantoms that fluoresce white. I bought it in 2007 from South African geologist-mineral dealer Allan Fraser. Here's what he said: "A large gemmy Calcite specimen with some attached Andradites that prove the provenance"
    This kind of Calcite with phantoms is one of my favorites from the Kalahari Manganese Field of South Africa.
    They're beautiful and rare. That's why the price must remain high.
    The base is flat, possibly because it was sawn that way or because the Calcite cleaved apart. In any case this Gem Calcite is self-standing, perfect for displaying.
