Beautiful Mimetite From Tsumeb, Namibia - Fluorescent!

Offered is a fine specimen of Mimetite from the Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. It's richly covered with orange Mimetite crystals on one side. It's a good sized piece and heavy for it's size at 212 grams.
This is one of the most fluorescent Tsumeb Mimetites in my large collection of 27 different specimens. I took the UV pics under Mid Wave UV which is actually the best to see it's fluorescence, at least with my lamp. It fluoresces well under Long Wave UV, too, but is not quite as bright. As you would expect it's not particularly bright under Short Wave.
But apart from the fluorescence it's a very beautiful specimen for Tsumeb. It's very attractive in daylight and displays nicely. I think this fluorescent Mimetite is one of the very best I've had in my collection. That's why the price must remain high.
I've been collecting Tsumeb fluorescent minerals since 2004 as part of my 16 year Geo Safari Research Project on the fluorescent minerals of Africa. T
his piece is a fine example of the complex mineralogy that was produced by the Tsumeb copper mine.
The Tsumeb mine is no longer producing minerals but in it's day it was famous for the very high number of mineral species found there. They are often among the best in the world. Tsumeb mineral specimens are going up in value because there won't be any more, only what's available on the market.
