    Description

    This piece of tan crystal specimen is originally from Badakhshan, the extreme northeast province of Afghanistan.
    (See daylight photos #5-7.)
    Under short wave lamp the scapolite glows a
    pretty
    cherry red color,
    and a partial coating of uranyl-activated mineral glows
    green
    (photos #1 & 2).
    Using our
    Convoy S2 long wave flashlight, the scapolite glows a
    pale orange
    and a partial coating of another mineral, probably aragonite, glows
    pale blue
    (photos #3 & 4).
    Weighs 1.2 oz & measures 1.375 x 1.25 x 0.625 inches (#Afg-88).
